Like the anime of the same name, Blood: The Last Vampire is strong on style and weak on substance. The film has a slightly faded color palette that at once suggests the 1970's (when the film is apparently set), and an otherworldly feel that is appropriate to the subject matter. Adding to that feel is Gianna Jun, who is suitably brooding as Saya, the title character.
