An intriguing remake that had the potential to be a sci-fi comedy that appealed to young and old instead ends up as a boring Will Ferrell vehicle. Despite the marketing campaign centering around the presence of dinosaurs in a fantastical land, Land of the Lost lacks the feeling of an event movie. The effects are shoddy, but not shoddy enough to go over the top into parody.
